Worm’s first song, so fine I was motivated to write “Kill for Kicks” the same day I heard it. It’s also where we got the idea for the cover photo. All the people we’re shooting against the wall are in the song: the pig businessman, the sissy (Worm’s youngest sister), the bookworm, the teacher, etc. The only one in the photo who’s not from the song Worm’s eldest sister (he had five sister altogether). She came along to the photo shoot with her husband, who loaned us the guns. She was nine months pregnant, so we put her in the photo anyhow. My contributions to this timeless Worm masterpiece were the line “Eat hot lead, doggie” and the “Try to be a punk like the spazz that you are” verse—an early hint of “Who needs a Queer Cut.”
The Minneapolis band add a horn section, a running surrealist allegory about walls, and an occasional nod to the elegiac to their electroshocked post-punk. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 4, 2024
On their ferocious self-titled debut, the Australian punks pit d-beat percussion against gnarled, metallic melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 3, 2024
Opener absolutely rips. Falls into the ranks of tracks like “Dance” by ESG, “Eisbaer” by Grauzone, “Damaged Goods” by Gang of Four or like the album description says Kleenex. This is some really good stuff. Favorite song is the opener but dedicate “Blue” to my friend Blue who lost her life at 22, she would have loved this album. TheBloodofChrist
