Worm wrote all the lyrics; then, exhausted from the effort, he turned to me for the music. We always tried to keep our songs to two chords (at least in the early days), and with this one I stepped out on the cutting edge by using only ONE chord. The song also inspired Worm’s fabled 1981 appearance on the Gong Show as “The Unknown Puta.” He wore a Senorita outfit and put a bag on his head. Using the same falsetto voice as on “Spider Pastures,” he sang the lyrics that showed once and for all that he did have great empathy for women’s feelings: “You’ve got to love me! You’ve got to adore me! You’ve got to mean it, too! Not just ignore me!” At that point he was gonged by J.P. Morgan, but he got a nice consolation prize.
The Minneapolis band add a horn section, a running surrealist allegory about walls, and an occasional nod to the elegiac to their electroshocked post-punk. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 4, 2024
On their ferocious self-titled debut, the Australian punks pit d-beat percussion against gnarled, metallic melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 3, 2024

Opener absolutely rips. Falls into the ranks of tracks like “Dance” by ESG, “Eisbaer” by Grauzone, “Damaged Goods” by Gang of Four or like the album description says Kleenex. This is some really good stuff. Favorite song is the opener but dedicate “Blue” to my friend Blue who lost her life at 22, she would have loved this album. TheBloodofChrist
